President Sullivan retakes the reins

The crisis that struck the University of Virginia with the unceremonious ouster of of its president didn't end with the groundswell of grassroots support for Teresa Sullivan that led to her June 26 reinstatement.

Instead, it shined a light on some of the back-stage maneuvering and center-stage challenges that face any public institution that puts the care of its flagship university in the hands of campaign donors to the state's governor.
