Emmylou is an award-winning songwriter who was discovered by Gram Parsons in the early 70’s and was an important part of his “cosmic American music”, including the seminal posthumous album Grievous Angel, before striking out on her own in 1975. Pretty soon she had attracted the attention of Dolly Parton and Daniel Lanois, among others, and more recent collaborators have also included Dre Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler and Bright Eyes singer Conor Oberst.

The multitalented local musician spins a big wheel to pick his instrument and rolls the dice to choose a format. OK, fine, it’s new agey piano for brunch. We can dream, though.
You may have already caught The Whiskey Rebellion elsewhere around town — Miller’s, for example, where they showcased their bluegrass and Americana at a few sporadic shows over the last couple months.
This show will also feature the Courtney Hollow Band, who have a more traditional take on bluegrass, and the Wednesday Night Regulars, a local quintet which came together at 214’s weekly jam sessions and have yet to come up with a competent name for themselves.
