Everything old is new again, or something — ring in the new year by partying like it’s 1989 with a set by the recently revitalized elder statesmen of C-ville’s 1980’s college-rock circuit. Similarly old-school blues-rockers The Nighthawks open.

New releases from both these local artists — from newcomer Swing, his debut album, featuring 14 experimental folk pieces based around his cello and a loop sampler. Sproule is of course an old hand at this by now, so she’s following last spring’s ¡Don’t Hurry For Heaven! with her first live album.

The most famous space-gypsy guitarist of all time gets a local memorial of sorts with this tribute show, featuring covers and reverence alike from blues guitarist Eli Cook, Andy Waldeck’s improvised funk mob XPS, The Chickenhead Blues Band, and more.
